It has been over a year since I was here. What a year. It has been a year of tragedy and loss. I live in a country I no longer recognize. I am overwhelmed by to cruelty and destruction of our country. Yesterday a person was killed by ICE. What county are we living in when a person is killed for protecting her community? The masked men in sketchy "uniforms" look like people found in a dive bar on a Thursday afternoon whining in their beer about how the world has done wrong by them. They were hired to visit cruelty on other and maybe move themselves up from the perceived bottom rung they are on.
I had made this blog long ago to talk about art but that seems far in the past. Now all I see is loss of kindness and respect. Hope is hard to come by with the unrelenting assault of cruelty and destruction.
